ChatterPix - Free!  (IOS)

Picture
ChatterPix Kids & ChatterPix (sharing version) is one of the easiest apps the students have used and although very simplistic, it gets the job done! Students will have 30 seconds to tell a story and while you may think thirty seconds isn't much time, a lot can be said in a short span. You can use this app with either a photo that you have or take a picture with the app. You need only to draw a line with your finger across the mouth area, hit record, play then share. The videos will save to your gallery.
This App allows sharing through email, Facebook, and YouTube and is designed for older students that have permissions to share. If you’d like to restrict these options,  download “ChatterPix Kids” – designed for kids with no sharing features but everything else is the same.
Though you are limited to 30 seconds, it is a great tool to teach students the art of summarizing! It takes a script, lots of practice and a  timer to condense a lot of information into half a minute, but it can be done! (see Tellagami of Fort McHenry - also 30 seconds)
